Furniture & General Storage
With the increasingly volatile nature of the economy it is becoming more and more common for businesses to alter their size and shape accordingly. Downsizing can lead to unused but not necessarily redundant furniture and equipment that may be required at a future time; affordable offsite storage is the obvious solution for these unused items.Sargents provide 140,000 sq ft of multi modal storage space across 6 self contained warehouses at our main campus in Belvedere. We do not operate fixed terms for storage contracts and therefore provide a flexible solution for short, medium or long term requirements.
To enhance security and assist with identification and instant retrieval of stored items we offer full bar coding technology capability and web based inventory management for rapid product identification and retrieval processing.
Our multi modal facilities provide a range of storage mediums for all types of product:
20' Steel ContainersIdeal for storing bulky office furniture consignments, crated and boxed item providing 1200 cu ft (34 cu metres) capacity.
Removal Industry Standard Wooden ContainersDesigned for storing household furniture and effects, we use these containers to store valuable and more sensitive office furniture product not suited for storing densely packed. The capacity of the container is 250 cu ft (7.07 cu metres).
Palletised StorageSuitable for flat pack product and boxed or small component stock items, economical storage is available on 4 x 3' (1.22 x 0.91 metre) or 4 'x 4' (1.22 x 1.22 metre) pallets secured on purpose built racking.
Conventional – Open Plan and Pen StorageIdeal for short term storage where product needs to be held temporarily. Open plan and pen storage provides a low cost option and instant access.
Humidity Controlled EnvironmentSecure and temperature controlled facilities are available via 8 hour rating strong rooms equipped with bespoke racking to store data and media tapes and discs.
Waste Management & Furniture Recycling
Prior to moving office it is likely you will look to reduce filing volumes and dispose of material that you no longer need.Many businesses have a waste management facility to dispose of material generated on a normal day to day basis. However, preparation for an office move will substantially increase the disposal demand and it is likely that the resources available in house will become exhausted.
Sargents provide a waste management service specifically catering for this extra demand and we can supply with the packing crates confidential bins for disposal of files and general paper waste.
The bins are fitted with secure lids and a robust lock. Unlike the traditional wheelie bin our units have a third wheel at the front which greatly improves manoeuvrability. The internal dimensions of the bin are 1040mm x 635mm x 400mm tapering down to 290mm with an optimum capacity of 340 litres.
The bins are bar coded and will be scanned when collected from your offices and at all key stages during the route to disposal. The material can either be securely shredded and confirmed by way of a destruction certificate on completion or treated as general paper waste and pulped.
We can arrange day to day exchange of loaded bins for empty ones or simply clear the bins from site on removal day.
Furniture Recycling

Sargents supply a comprehensive range of furniture product for office environments, conferences, exhibitions and examinations for short, medium and long term hire.We hold a substantial stock of both functional and more specialist furniture product to provide immediate order fulfilment and frequently source and procure non stock items to satisfy unique order requests.
Additionally, we operate a continual investment programme to ensure our stock is of a superior quality and compatible with modern office environments. We provide stringent quality control and a clinical maintenance regime to ensure outgoing and returning stock is thoroughly cleaned and appropriately serviced.
The product is delivered to and collected from site on liveried vehicles featuring a full furniture removal specification and installed by trained and experienced removal personnel familiar with statutory lifting and handling techniques and equipped with appropriate tackle and plant.

Standard Crate Internal Dimensions – 597mm x 374mm x 330mm
The standard crate is ideal for packing desk pedestal and desk surface contents as well as the contents of bookcases, standard filing cabinets and general stationary.
Filing CrateInternal Dimensions – 1060mm x 420mm x 287mm
Supplied for the packing of metre length and/or sequential suspended, lever arch filing, ring binder filing and library material facilitating shelf to shelf transfer.
Computer CrateInternal Dimensions – 590mm x 550mm x 600mm
Each crate will house one complete desktop system comprising monitor, CPU, keyboard, mouse, all cables and telephone handset or standard desktop printers. We can also supply padded monitor covers, cable and accessory bags and anti-static bubble wrap sleeves.
General Purpose CageInternal Dimensions – 1430mm x 810mm x 700mm
Supplied with two adjustable shelves, the general purpose cage is ideal for outsize computer monitors, larger printers, server components, boxed stationary items such as envelopes and toner cartridges and other items generally too large for standard or filing crates as well as warehouse stock. The cage will be supplied with durable foam shelf liners when transporting computer items.
